Food Access Toolkit - University of Bath and BaNES Council

Universities

I worked with researchers from the University of Bath Dr Leda Blackwood and Dr Becky Hurwitz and Public Health workers Cathy McMahon and Milly Carmichael at BaNES Council to design and develop an interactive toolkit to help policy makers and community leaders bring awareness of food insecurity into decision making.

The toolkit presents real people's lived experiences of food insecurity gathered through the research in a way that supports empathy, conversation and action by those using it. Inspired by role player games, the toolkit invites users to bring their real world experience and professional approach to identify ways to support the people they are responding to. The toolkit is now being trialled across Bath and North East Somerset.
